The cheetah is one of the most recognisable members of the cat family, mostly because of its incredible speed. The cheetahs’ sprints have been measured at a maximum of 114 km (71 miles) per hour, and they routinely reach velocities of 80–100 km per hour while pursuing prey. Unfortunately, the species has been classified as vunerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature(IUCN) in 2021, due to its destruction of natural habitat from human intervention.
